On Tuesday 14th May 2013 The Phone Co-op will be removing any email address that has not been accessed in the last 6 months. Customers who regularly use their Phone Co-op email addresses to send and receive email will not be affected by this maintenance work.
Why are we doing this?
We are doing this to maintain the efficiency of our email service.
What will we be doing?
Any mailbox and email address which has not been accessed in the last 6 months will be removed from the mail server. We will be making a back-up copy of each mailbox we remove, but no new email will be delivered to these email addresses after the 14th May and you will not be able to access these addresses any more using webmail.
How can I keep my email address?
If you regularly use your email address, you will not be affected by this work. You will still be able to send and receive email from your addresses.
This change only applies to email addresses which have not been accessed in the last 6 months.
If you have an email address that you hardly use and you wish to keep, please login to your email address and collect your email before Monday 13th May so that we do not remove this mailbox. We will delete any mailboxes which have not been accessed after this date.
How can I log in to my email address?
You can log in to your email address via webmail at www.thephone.coop/webmail. We recommend that you set up your email address in an email program on your computer such as Outlook, Thunderbird or Apple Mail for example. This will automatically log in to your mailbox and download the email to your inbox on your computer. Details on setting up your email address in the most common email programs can be found at www.thephone.coop/help-and-support/broadband/e-mail-support/
Can I use my email address once it has been removed?
Once your email address has been removed from the server, no new emails will be delivered to that address and the sender will be sent a notification that the address no longer exists. However, it will be possible to recreate your email address if you need us to.
