Vivian Woodell, Chief Executive of The Phone Co-op, has won the prestigious Business Person of the Year sponsored by Liga at the West Oxfordshire Business Awards 2017 (WOBAs). The announcement was made at a glamorous event hosted at Heythrop Park Resort on Friday 7 April.

The annual awards are now in their seventh year and provide an opportunity for the very best of West Oxfordshire businesses to receive recognition for outstanding achievements over the past year.

“I am honoured to receive the award for West Oxfordshire Business Person of the Year, which I was happy to accept on behalf of everyone who works with me at The Phone Co-op, and all our members,” said Vivian Woodell, Chief Executive of The Phone Co-op.  “Most importantly, I also see it as important recognition for our co-operative business model. We are successful because we are different.”

Commenting on this year’s WOBA winners, Jo Sensecall from the WOBA organising team, said: “The calibre and breadth of entries this year has been exceptional and we would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists who should be very proud of their achievements.”

The WOBA 2017 Gala Dinner was a successful fundraising event for HENRY – Health Exercise Nutrition for the Really Young. The organisation has been running a Healthy Families Programme through Children’s Centres across the UK since 2009 and has reached 8,000 families.
