Why join us
Why join us?
Haven't got around to becoming a member of the UK's only co-operative phone service and ISP yet? Uniquely owned and controlled by our own customers, we prioritise providing a great service, rather than milking them for profit.
Our focus on service has made us a great success story - in 2008 we were awarded Social Enterprise of the Year at the Enterprising Solutions Awards, and won the Best Customer Service category of the Green England Awards. In 2011, we were named Reseller of the Year at the Federation of Communication Services awards.
By investing in The Phone Co-op, you will be helping the business to grow and develop, and be joining with others to demonstrate how an ethically run, customer-owned business can really make a difference
Wouldn't you like to be a part of that?
Earn interest on your share capital
The rate of interest is currently 2.25% gross per annum, and in accordance with the law relating to Industrial and Provident Societies is paid without deduction of tax.
Share in the decisions affecting your co-operative
The Phone Co-op belongs to its members, and is run for their benefit. Members can take part in board elections, attend the AGM, and contribute to shaping your co-operative's future.
Profits are shared between members
If our trading results are good the board can recommend the payment of a share of profits to members in the form of a dividend based on how much each member spends. Dividends have been recommended in seven of the last eight years, reflecting The Phone Co-op's continued strong performance.
We paid a dividend of 2% of members' spend last year. A member with a typical spend of £30 a month earned a dividend last year of £7.20.
To become a member, you need to invest a minimum of £1. We keep it at £1 so that membership is open to anyone, but we'd love it if you'd consider investing more - the interest rate of 2.25% makes it more than worthwhile.
