Creating an e-mail account: Microsoft Outlook

This tutorial uses screenshots from Outlook 2003 on Windows XP. Earlier versions of Outlook on other versions of Windows are very similar, and you should be able to use this article to help create accounts with them.

Outlooks 2007 and 2010 are quite different. We have separate tutorials for setting up e-mail accounts in the latest version of Outlook.

In Outlook, click on "Tools" in the menu bar and then go to "E-mail Accounts."

outlook1

Choose "Add a new e-mail account," click "Next."

outlook2

Choose "POP3," click "Next."

outlook3

Enter:

  • your name in the "Your Name" field.
  • your e-mail address in the "E-mail Address" field.
  • your e-mail username in the "User Name" field.
  • your e-mail password in the "Password" field.
  • pop3.phonecoop.coop in the "Incoming mail server" field.
  • mail.phonecoop.coop in the "Outgoing mail server" field.
