Creating an e-mail account: Mozilla Thunderbird 3

When you first launch Thunderbird 3, you'll be presented with the Mail Account Setup prompt.

If you already have an account and want to set up a new Phone Co-op one, open the prompt by going to Tools > Account Settings. Select Add Mail Account from the Account Actions menu.

Complete your details in the Mail Account Setup window, and click Continue.

Thunderbird will try and find the settings for your account, but click Stop, because they need to be entered manually.

The Editing Config panel will appear:

Fill in your User name.

In Incoming enter pop3.phonecoop.coop, and change IMAP to POP in the dropdown box.

In Outgoing, enter mail.phonecoop.coop, or smtp.adsl.coop if your broadband user name ends with @adsl.coop.

Click Re-test Configuration.

Click Create Account.

A security notice will appear, but can be ignored - click I understand the risks, then Create Account.

Click Ok

Your account is now set up.
