Ethical Policies

Our ethical policies ensure that we conduct our business according to the values and principles of the co-operative movement. You can read more about 'what is a co-op' here.

In 1998, we launched our Ethical Policy. It's proved to be a central part of who we are and we are always looking to build our ethical status.

Today our ethical policies have developed into an ethical operating plan affecting every part of The Phone co-op - customers and members, colleagues and partners; and shows our commitment to building a better world and what we do with our profits.

We are a proud pioneer of ethical telecoms and a supporter of other ethical businesses (Fairphone – the world’s first ethical smartphone) and ethical organisations (Social Enterprise UK, Fair Tax) and ethical campaigns (Living Wage). We are fully committed to providing a “good work” environment for our colleagues and have gained an Investors in People Award accreditation in 2017.

If you care about social change today, then you can help too by supporting businesses that promote a fairer and more sustainable economy.
