It is believed that 1 in 200 babies in the UK are born with genetic changes that can cause mitochondrial disease although there are no official statistics that record the number of children that go on from this to develop serious disease. The Lily Foundation is working every day to make that hope a reality, by raising awareness and funding scientific research to find a cure.

Lily Foundation say in their website:

With help from the families we support, we made the short video above to encourage people to give what they can this Christmas, so we can keep working towards a better tomorrow for mito patients and their families.
